Plans LLC, known for providing customized PC enclosures primarily
for rack mount environments, has now released a new wall mount
chassis to round out its already broad product line. The W05
is a highly adaptable chassis intended for wall or bulkhead
mounting. The W05 accommodates any ATX motherboard including
extended server boards. In addition, a 14-slot backplane can
be installed for applications requiring a Single Board Computer
solution. The chassis measures 17" (W) x 18.5" (H)
x 8" (D). To minimize chassis depth, the W05 includes
a unique tilting CD cage allowing the use of a low cost standard
5-1/4" form factor CD drive. Up to 4 hard drives and
a floppy can also be installed. The system is cooled using
two 92mm high flow fans with an easily accessible air filter.
The W05 can be modified to hold an LCD screen, keyboard tray,
or house all full-length cards. Along with the ability to
be ruggedized for outdoor environments, the W05 can also be
sold with wire retention and specialized conduit for added
security. EMI shielding comes standard in the front door,
and additional shielding can be added as needed. The W05 is
available now, and joins the existing front-accessible W03
to provide a solution for almost any wall mount requirement.
